Friday Gun Pr0n #255

BenC was kind enough to send in this week's picture:

Model 10

Ben picked this up on a whim because of the price - let's just say it was less than a new Hi-Point - and he won't be disappointed. Everyone should have at least one four inch barreled .38 Special revolver, be it a Smith & Wesson Model 10, a Colt Official Police, or a Ruger Service Six. The Model 10 has had the best run, in production since 1899 in one form or another, and is arguably the very picture that comes to mind when one hears the words "Smith and Wesson".

Nice pick-up Ben - if you get tired of her, give me a shout!

That is all.

Service Six. 1776-1976 model. Looked almost new.

Wish I'd kept the Speed Six and the other Service Six I sold...

D'oh!

Nice gun. IMHO, though, I prefer that they have a 4 inch .357. But that's just for Logistical purposes. Never can tell when there's a Good Deal for Ammo.

Les I would have preferred the .357 also but at the price was good and the trigger pull sweet so I bit.Jay if I had any idea you were going publish this I wouldn't have sent a better picture but thanks. LOL!

I have two Model 10s. One is a blue pencil barrel and the other is a Nickle heavy barrel much like Ben's.

I was also looking at a blue heavy barrel about two weeks ago at a local gun store. I don't NEED another Model 10, but I sort of WANT another Model 10.

If you know what I mean.

And I know you do!

I have a 10-5, DW has a 10-6.

It's my usual OC piece.

I've started to prefer S&W revolvers above all others. My model 13 police turn-in is a joy to shoot.
