ICE Agent Shot Dead at California Federal Building
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent is dead after a workplace dispute erupted into gunfire at the agency’s offices in a California federal building, officials said.Another agent saw what was happening and intervened, leading to the shooter being killed and the victim getting a chance to survive. The ICE agent who was shot dead was the instigator of the violence, not the victim; and only the quick thinking of another armed agent was able to stop the shooter from accomplishing his deadly goal. There is so much wrong with this, it's scary. It happened in a Federal building, which are off limits to CCW holders in many states. It happened in CA, which is #1 rated in the Brady campaign for their gun laws. And this was a federal Employee - remember, "you can't professionalize until you federalize". Also, note that the police response - while still very rapid at about two minutes - was insufficient to stop the violence.
In the incident at the Glenn M. Anderson Federal Building in Long Beach, Calif., an ICE agent allegedly opened fire on a colleague Thursday evening, leaving that colleague hospitalized in stable condition with multiple gunshot wounds, ICE officials told ABC News.
Take a second to think about this story. This is quite possibly the perfect storm of where things like this shouldn't happen. These are Federal agents here - theoretically subjected to all kinds of background checks and psychological testing - the exact kind the antis want all gun owners subjected to. They were in a "secure" facility - in CA, especially, even those that can get a CCW permit cannot carry in a Federal building. This was a professional law enforcement official who snapped, and all the gun laws in the world couldn't, didn't, and won't stop it from happening.
Until people stop being people, all the laws in the world won't stop someone from snapping and inciting violence against his fellow man - but a .45 ACP certainly will.

ICE Agents standard issue sidearm is the Sig Sauer P229R DAK in .40 S&W unfortunately not in .45 ACP.

Not shocked by it at all.
Hmmm, an armed bystander stopped an active shooter before the cops arrived. Also, did the cops shoot the bystander? No.
Look at this from another angle. This happened in a workplace where everyone was armed and the only one who died was the person who started the shooting.
In a secured government facility. When seconds count. Help is still minutes away.

The victim was "recovering from six gunshot wounds. He is described as alert and talking."
With 1 officer wounded, 1 dead and a third dealing with emotional aftermath of shooting a fellow officer ... well, smart ass remarks can wait.

I just wonder when the swat teams from the FDA and the ones from the Deparment of Education start to shoot it out.
why is it not a DGC? A bad guy shot someone at work and was killed for doing so.
