What, Praytell, Did You *THINK* Would Happen?

Animal rights group says drone shot down
A remote-controlled aircraft owned by an animal rights group was reportedly shot down near Broxton Bridge Plantation Sunday near Ehrhardt, S.C.

Steve Hindi, president of SHARK (SHowing Animals Respect and Kindness), said his group was preparing to launch its Mikrokopter drone to video what he called a live pigeon shoot on Sunday when law enforcement officers and an attorney claiming to represent the privately-owned plantation near Ehrhardt tried to stop the aircraft from flying.

I tried to comment on this, but all I kept hearing inside my head was BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA...

That is all.

(Thanks to Mopar for the story!)

Watch the Youtube vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZgk1cRqAfs
Besides some pretty intolerant propaganda from Steveo, they cut away from the in-drone cam before the money shot (so to speak).

So they were going to launch a spy drone to survey and spy on legal actions on private property (which involve shooting at flying things with guns) actions which they self-righteously condemn, and then are shocked, SHOCKED that it gets shot down.

*snerk*
*chortle*
*BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA*

Good riddance.

What caliber for drones?

Since they promised to come back next year with more or "better" drones, it seems only fair that the property owners hire this guy to balance things

Sounds to me like a case of trespassing and illegal snooping, I think the club should file a counter suit.
All the SHARK people did was furnish them with a free target.

I was thinking the club needed one of these for next year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZCH1492CzA

The LEO's mentioned should have cited them for obstructing a public highway and I also believe it's illegal to launch an aircraft from a public highway in my state. Don't know about SC's laws.

I also think that broken prop would have occured in a hard landing. I smell a hoax when they don't have video of a projectile actually rocking the aircraft in flight. A projectile would have only hit one end of the prop.

Anybody got a mailing address for the club?

I feel a sudden urge to order a case of ammo and have it shipped somewhere.

But wait, there's more!

Their "live pigeon shoot"...

Clay pigeons.

Now I hear they are claiming someone on a motorcycle shot it down with a .22 while it was 50 feet in the air. The damage (from what I understand) consists of bunged up tips on one propeller.

That's some darn good shooting right there. Two shots on opposite tips of the same propeller...
