Pfleger fires on toy guns in Easter baskets
There was a time when kids wanting toy guns had limited media images of cowboys and Indians or cops and robbers to emulate. Today, not so.Right. Gangbangers are shooting each other up because they got squirt guns and Nerf darts for Easter. Does Snuffy know just how incredibly idiotic he sounds? Does he care? He equates a 22 year old getting shot with kids getting squirt guns. How can you have a rational conversation with someone that makes these incredible leaps? I mean, either he's being patently dishonest in order to gain publicity, or he honestly believes that if WalMart didn't sell a $10 Easter basket with a $2 squirt gun, gang members wouldn't shoot each other.
So the Rev. Michael Pfleger said he is challenging the sale of the toys — in Easter baskets — to a generation plagued by more violent and rampant use of guns in their own neighborhoods.
That's nothing short of delusional.
This is what the modern gun control movement has become. They're shallow, dishonest, and project their worst attributes on the rest of us that just want to be left alone. Their wild claims of Wild West type shootouts (that's Hollywood Wild West, mind you; the reality is that Tombstone at its worst was far safer than, say, Chicago on a good night), blood in the streets, etc. haven't happened - because folks that are going to snap and shoot someone over a parking space are going to do it regardless of whether it's legal for them to carry a gun.
And now they're reduced to attacking retailers for pre-packaged Easter baskets. Of all the evils in the world, of all the vices and sin that might lead a young man to stray from the path of righteous and become callous and hardened enough to turn to murder, Preacher Snuffy thinks that Nerf guns are at the top. The scourge of the inner city, the suction cup dart, is an evil so odious that only the highest form of protest can be used: The boycott.
Well, I'll state for the record, right now: TheBoy will be getting an airsoft gun in his Easter basket thanks to Preacher Snuffy...
That is all.

Okay then, Reverend, the images of cowboys and Indians was the one you wanted to emulate? Or cops and robbers? Those were the role models? Really?
And please explain the part of the Bible where Easter baskets and the Easter Bunny are mentioned.
