Liz Warren just won’t commit
She won't debate her Democratic challenger. What does that tell you about her grasp of the positions? She knows that when she goes up against Scott Brown she'll have the full weight of the MA political machine on her side - but will that same machine support her blindly against her Democratic challenger? She's got name recognition on her side now - although most of that is a result of Fauxcahontas. The running joke in this race (besides "Fauxcahontas") is that only in Massachusetts would a Republican making $600K a year be the "rich" candidate while the Democrat making > $1mil be middle class...She’s promised to get tough with Wall Street, but Elizabeth Warren yesterday refused to commit to one-on-one debates with hard-charging opponent Marisa DeFranco — a dodge one leading Democratic analyst said could raise questions about whether the party elite’s favorite has what it takes.“If I’m them, I’d take one or two just to show I wasn’t a chicken,” Democratic operative Lou DiNatale said about the Warren campaign. “It’s an opportunity for her to demonstrate she’s got a grasp of the issues and she’s not afraid to debate anybody.”
One wonders why she won't debate DeFranco. Could it possibly be that her thin "woman of the people" veneer will fade rapidly next to someone that has actually held a job in the private sector? She claims to have already debated her, which is technically true in that there was a debate amongst all Demo challenges well over a year before the general election. Her campaign is stating that the debates in October and December of last year - against the entire field of eight candidates of different levels of interest and intent - counts as having debated the only serious contender to the Democratic nomination.
Boy, wouldn't it be a hoot if DeFranco ran as a third party candidate and siphoned votes from Faucahontas?
Then again, Warren's also refusing newspaper interview requests and continuing to make mind-boggling pronouncements - "first nursing mother to take the bar exam in New Jersey"? Really? Why not claim to be the first woman prepared to fly to Mars under her own power? Both are equally unverifiable claims... Someday, someone is going to run an analysis of this campaign as a case study in how biased the media has been in recent times.
Or they could just ask for Princess Running Chicken's recipe for native American paté fois gras...
That is all.

I prefer "Hackagewea" myself.
We would also accept "Lieawatha"...
