And then I got curious. I knew that Crimson Trace had a Laser Sight for the LCR. I'm an unabashed fan of their products, as their Laser Sights are intuitive, unobtrusive, and unfailingly simple to operate. The J-frame Laser Sights get the most use - given that they're on a snubnosed revolver, they're certainly the most useful addition to have - how different is the Laser Sight for the LCR? Well, a quick chat with the guru of Crimson Trace, and one of these arrived at the homestead last week:
So I played with analyzed it over the long weekend, and figured I'd offer up some initial thoughts. First off, as with all Crimson Trace Laser Grips, it was dirt-simple to install:
Again, I want to stress how amazingly simple the Crimson Trace Laser Grips are to install - if you can turn a screwdriver, you can install these on your defensive arm. Literally less than one minute from opening the box and these were on the LCR - and that includes the time needed to pop the batteries in!
While the ease of use - grip the gun and the laser is on - is the main selling point, it's also of note that the Laser Grips do not interfere with most holsters. Here are just some of the holsters that work perfectly with the Crimson Trace Laser Grips for the LCR:
As for operation, I'm going to see about getting another patented MArooned Video Review for that - the beauty of the Crimson Trace Laser Grips is that they are so intuitive and simple. It's just crying out for a quick video of a CT-equipped firearm being drawn to show just how simple and effective they are. I'll also have a shooting report once I get a chance to bring this to the range - and maybe I'll hit the indoor range at my gun club so the laser is actually visible... (we've been having some ventilation... issues).
A big thanks to Crimson Trace for the grips, and look for more reviews to come!
That is all.
