Women charged with knocking down 93-year-old, stealing purse
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. - Two women targeted a 93-year-old woman waiting for a bus and one of them knocked her to the ground when she stole her purse, police said.
Jeannette Robida had just left a hair salon and was standing at the bus stop when, according to court documents, Julia Gibb, 28, pointed her out, telling Juliana Souza, 23, she appeared to be an "easy target to score some money."This is the world the gun-grabbers want us to live in, where the elderly, weak, frail people are at the mercy of soulless predators looking for an "easy target". For no reason other than her age, Jeannette Robida was targeted by two vicious thugs a third her age who assaulted her for the $15 in her purse. This is the world they want for us - where the young and violent need not fear armed victims, where they are free to prey on those they deem weaker, or easy targets, or simply because they feel like it.
I'll wager that neither women serves more than a month or two on probation, either - because we don't take petty crime seriously. It's never an issue unless someone gets killed, at which point there's much wringing of hands and shirt-rending and a boogeyman - which often is the tool used. The issue is not whether the thug used a gun, a knife, or their bare hands - it's that they do not fear retribution from their victims or the legal system, so they do as they please.
Putting yourself at the mercy of violent thugs that would assault a 93-year old woman for the $15 in her purse is fine for those who want to live in Brady land - but not in my world.

Soulless, that's a good adjective for those two. I'm thinking they'd both benefit from a hot lead transfusion (it can be very medicinal for goblin-types).

Nothing petty about that crime. They should both be shot.
Something like that happened around here (Grand Rapids, MI) a year or so ago.
Repeat offender, was out on probation at the time, etc. Judge gave that one 15 years in prison. Fuck yeah.
Link to what I was talking about. And to correct myself one woman got 3-15 years. The repeat offender was handed 12.5-30 years.
Whether or not they'll serve it all I don't know, but I like that judge.
Never mind the perps. Is someone nearby enough to Mrs. Robida to help her get her LTC, guide her through the process, and make sure this doesn't happen to her twice?
What do you think, Jay? It's quite possible that the lady wants nothing to do with firearms; this is Massachusetts, after all. But if she's interested, or is open to gentle persuasion, then I'm sure she could use some help.
I think alot of the scum in new bedford ma need a blast in the head I live in this rat hole the cops do very little to protect and serve its also hard to get a registered hand gun thnks to the cheif of police but the thugs seem to get away with unregistered ones if your a junkie crackhead etc this is the city for you truly shameful what these two pieces of trash did to a 93 year old woman I hope it happens to them someday

Nine months after the attack, this vibrant woman passed on. She could have lived much longer. May she rest in peace, and may the perpetrators be held accountable.
