Another Round of "Imagine If"...

Commerce Dept. says Sec. Bryson suffered seizure
SAN GABRIEL, Calif. — U.S. Commerce Secretary John Bryson suffered a seizure in connection with two Los Angeles-area traffic crashes that led to a felony hit-and-run citation, officials said Monday.
Bryson, 68, was treated at a hospital following the crashes around 5 p.m. PDT Saturday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department and the San Gabriel Police Department said in a joint statement.
Now, he had two separate accidents and was later found unconscious in his car. The wording, though, is awfully generic - "[t]here was no immediate indication that alcohol or drugs played a role in the collisions" sounds an awful lot like "when the door to the car opened, only three beer bottles fell out". I am by no means an expert on seizures, but I'm unclear how he could have one, clear up enough to drive off, then have another causing a second crash. Is it possible? Certainly. Would the media have granted a Bush administration official the same leeway? Doubtful.

And also of note was that Secretary Bryson was driving a Lexus - you know, one of the brands that only the wealthiest 1% can afford...

That is all.

Details are slim, but I gather that he suffered a seizure AFTER the accident which is likely a result of a head injury.

Still yet another felon in the Obama cabinet.

Sounds more like TIAs than anything else...

I'm a lurker, but thought I'd contribute:
I work for the Dept. of Commerce and we got an email from Mr. Bryson's chief of staff letting us know he was back in DC and would be in the office "later this morning". Somehow I doubt he'll be driving himself in to work today.

Actually, I think the story might be legit. Something similar happened to my grandmother a few years back.

I don't know the exact details, but she was in one collision, which actually caused her airbags to deploy, but continued driving for a short time until she was involved with a second collision, this one head-on with another car. So yeah, it could happen.

Democrats appear to do most things while suffering from brain seizures.

We (another pilot and I) found a car in the infield of Podunk Muni Airport a few years ago. The driver, a brittle diabetic, passed out while driving, somehow managed to cross one of the busiest streets in town without hitting anyone, crashed through the airport fence and came to a stop 100 yds. from the end of the runway, between the runway and taxiway. Had no memory of the incident once they got his sugar levels under control. So yeah, there could be extenuating circumstances . . .
