Open Invitation for New Shooters
Just want to extend an open invitation to all potential new shooters in the Northern Virginia area. If you have never shot a firearm, or would like to get back into the shooting sports, or are an accomplished shooter who'd like to try something in my arsenal, give me a shout.

Yesterday, my first thought was soooo far out in right field that I didn't post.
But I will now: I think it looks like a candle follower (as commonly found on church candles). I bought a set of these recently from my church - and was surprised how pricey they were. If I had a lathe, making a set sounds like a fun project.
Yeah, this doesn't make sense with the wooden portion, but I'm going with it anyway...

Sure looks like the making of a boat or bay fishing pole to me, the wooden part being the butt end, the metal part being the connecting piece that holds the butt end of the the fiberglass or graphite end of the rod in place.
Yep, have fishing on my mind, maybe a nice trip out on a party boat next week.
