Fall River Store Clerk Belts Would-Be Robber With Metal Bat
FALL RIVER (CBS) – A Fall River convenience store clerk took matters into his own hands when an armed robber stormed into his store.
Sunny’s Convenience Store has been robbed several times this year, which is why clerk Jignesh Patel keeps a baseball bat within reach to defend himself.Heh. Swing for the bleachers, Jignesh. There's the standard claptrap about "give them what they want, don't get hurt" blah blah blah - it's got to be a style sheet the AP gives to cops to recite or something. Obviously this story didn't hear the news that here in MA, we "discourage self-help", right Marsha? It's a good thing that MA's tough bat control laws work as well as the kitchen knife control laws, otherwise someone could have gotten hurt.
The best part of the article, though, was the difference between the big chains and the mom & pop stores, as evidenced by the statement of the store owner:
But Patel’s bosses believe his tough-to-rob reputation will deter future thugs.Heh. It's good to know that he won't be fired for protecting himself. The sad part is, the next time the thugs will just walk in and start shooting. Using MA-compliant handguns and with the appropriate carry permits, of course. Because "common sense gun control laws" affect criminals, right?
At least - for now - you don't need a LTB (License to Bat) in Massachusetts...
That is all.

F Marsha, F Marsha, F Marsha.
Heh. Massachusetts isn't completely gone yet...
It looks like the liberals are getting at least one wish. They want America to be more like Europe? In Europe the people have known for a long time that their country and their government are two very different things. Americans are starting to figure that out now.
How the he'll did MA go from Lexington and Concord to the present stupidity?
Bets on how long it will be before some one will call for common sense bat control?
