So the rifle in question is a "Save". I swapped into it to keep it from being sporterized.
It's a Steyr built Krag Jorgensen chambered in 6.5x55 swede. I believe it's an 1894 model.
The cool part is that it's a captured rifle. The Nazi's captured it from Norway and arsenal refurbished it in 1944. The arsenal numbers are matching with I believe the original numbers on the bolt. It appears in cursory research that the arsenal was obendorf.
Damn, but that's a beautiful, beautiful rifle lovingly restored to its glory - thanks Spear!

Appears to have a short barrel for an 1894 rifle.
Perhaps it's a 1904 Engineer's Carbine? It seems to have a bayonet lug, the 1895, 1897 and 1907 Carbines don't. Swivels on the left side of the gun would clinch the 1904 ID.

Not to mention the irony of a nazi-built gun used to help preserve The Land of Israel. It will make a nice companion piece for TLADML (The Lovely And Deadly Miss Lyudmila).
