Postponed...

For reasons too numerous to mention, last night's trip to the indoor range never happened. I'm going to try to get back tonight, because I just don't see being able to make time tomorrow afternoon either - and I still want to stick to my 100 rounds a week pledge. The weekend is being spent in other pursuits, and will most likely entail yardwork in the oppressive heat later today (because if I put it off until tomorrow it ain't gonna happen).

Even with my gun club only 4 miles away, I still find excuses not to go more often. There's an indoor range that's open 24/7 - it's sufficiently isolated and insulated such that even with our adversarial neighbors (they built several high-end subdivisions adjacent to the gun club a few decades ago who are decidedly unhappy about being next to an active shooting range), we can still shoot whenever we want. And yet the few times I've managed to drag myself there, I find that I'm the only name on the list for the entire week...

Oh well, at least I'm not fighting anyone for space on the line!

That is all.

Dang, my CLOSEST range is 25 miles, and I get there more than you do? Of course I'm NOT dealing with family/house stuff either... :-)

It's been a hectic weekend...

I *did* make it tonight. Got in some *MUCH* needed recoil therapy...

One of the clubs I belong to is from sunup to sundown 7days.
If I get there early on a weekday, I've got it to myself.
Moving pistol, 100yd rifle, trap,etc.
Kool.

Our local ranges are 13 and 14 miles away. My son and I ran out there this afternoon to break in our new dueling tree. We had the place to ourselves - It was great.

I have gotten really spoiled lately, our last four trips to the range we were all alone out there, well except for the snakes, the rabbits and the black widow spiders. Is getting so that we are disappointed if we have to share the range with anyone else.

But then we try to time things so that we don't run into others out there. We head out before dinner time on Saturday or Sunday just a couple hours before sundown.

I love it when people move or build near a shooting range or an airport. Then complain about the noise. Dumbasses.

The people who build near a shooting range have no plans to live there. They just got the land cheap and they're going to rent it out.

Hmmm. I wonder if I could get a free club membership if I move in next door and promise to not complain.

i find that it is often a struggle to get to the range ... but it's always worth it!
