Cyber Warfare: Iran's Nuclear Computer 'Forced to Play AC/DC' by Computer Malware [VIDEO]
It's both frightening and hysterical that the security protocols are so lax in the Iranian nuclear research community. There's a rather good chance that they'll wind up blowing themselves to little glowing bits, which is unfortunate for the poor folks in Iran who can't get out; worse still is that even if it is self-inflicted, Israel will get the blame.A computer malware has allegedly attacked computer systems in Iran forcing them to play AC/DC's Thunderstruck at full volume in the middle of the night, according to a computer security researcher.
Mikko Hypponen, lead researcher at the Finnish computer security firm F-Secure, reported in his blog that a scientist working at the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) sent him an e-mail about his systems getting hit by a cyber-attack.
Now, I'm not an internet security guru (but I did give blog-birth to someone who is!), but from the description of the malware used, it wasn't terrifically sophisticated. Given that the Iranian nuclear community is still reeling from the (allegedly US-led) Flame attack, you'd think they'd be a little more circumspect about security. Or, they don't mind the prospect of flaming nuclear death...
I think the only way this could possibly have been better would have been for the attack to have used this song instead.
That is all.

We had a vote at the office and Highway to Hell would have been the popular choice for AC/DC.
I suggested the Singing Nun but was told it was too cruel.

I understand the hacker's original plan was to use Justin Bieber, but he decided that was cruel and unusual punishment and likely a violation of the Geneva Convention...
I would've gone with Shoot to Thrill... Made the Iranians paranoid that Iron Man was about to show up.
I will freely admit I hate the guys that write these things. They really hurt my customers.
But, I'll make an exception in this case . . . . .
Iran allows systems with speakers in Thier research facility?????
....... And if you are going to do this why not replace the 5 time a day call to prayer.
Hopefully the hackers didnt just play the song, they actually loaded this youtube video of the song: http://youtu.be/mYMiEU0vKIM
This is psychological operations on the Iranian security forces.
Also, I'd have thought it was funnier if they'd played "Never Gonna Give You Up", but you know what a purist I am ...
That's our Borepatch, keeping the Internet safe for cat pictures and Rick Astley.
Rick Astley?

I thought "I love you, You love Me" by the infernal purple dinosaur would have been worse. Or "It's a Small World." How about the next one send them episodes of "Pigs. In. SpaaaAAAAaaaace!"
