"Princess and the potholes"

Wow. Howie Carr is on fire with this one...

Princess and the potholes
So Deval Patrick said there was no money in the budget for Taunton State Hospital, but there is plenty of dough to fix the road to his mansion so first lady Michelle Obama doesn’t have to ride over, perish the thought, a pothole.
...
But hey, it’s the least we peasants can do for our very own Marie Antoinette. After all, she and Barack can’t go to Martha’s Vineyard this year, what with the election and all.

The gist of the story is that Obama toady sycophant Patrick dropped a dime to the town manager in his town and asked if the road could be repaired before the First Lady's visit at a $20K/head fundraiser. Like Howie says,
Imagine if Mitt Romney as governor had called up the town manager of Wolfeboro, N.H., and asked that the road to his lakefront digs be repaired so that he could entertain ... Laura Bush.
Just imagine the uproar. Imagine the gnashing of teeth, front page denunciations, etc. Romney would be "out of touch" with the thousands of Bay State residents without jobs for hosting a fundraiser that costs more than most folks make in three months to attend. He'd be lambasted for using his office to influence local officials. Yet again, we're shown that corruption and influence are only an issue if the person responsible has an (R) after his name.

In other words, another day ending in "Y".

That is all.

You're right about the irony.

But I didn't know there was a Potemkin, MA.

Learn sumpin' new every day!

Romney would have simply paid to have the road repaired out of his own pocket. Actually , I believe all the roads on governors island are privately owned and so the homeowners association pays for repairs

Check this site out, map pothole locations, the more read they see the more the problem will be fixed.
