VIDEO: Woman Flips Over After Trying To Ride Motorized Scooter Up MBTA Escalator
BOSTON (CBS) – A woman on a motorized scooter fell down an escalator on the MBTA last week.On Friday, the 56-year-old woman from South Boston was attempting to ride her scooter up an escalator at the Broadway MBTA Station, but flipped over a couple times and fell down.
There's video at the link. Don't watch it unless you feel like going to hell - I couldn't stop myself from laughing. Then again, think about the settlement this woman is going to receive from the MBTA because the warning signs don't explicitly state "Do not try to ride a scooter up the escalator" and you'll stop laughing pretty quickly. I'm trying to figure out the thought process involved here - there are *all* kinds of signs warning you not to take strollers/rolling suitcases/anything with wheels up the escalators, and there are ramps/elevators/etc.
Remember, you can't fix stupid - but that doesn't mean Massachusetts won't shovel millions of dollars at it...
That is all.

Maybe, just maybe, they'll get someone with some sense on that jury.
Yeah, like that'll ever happen.
Two things:
1: OMFG LOL!!!!
2: She walked away? WTF was she doing on a scooter then?
And did you notice she WALKS away with seemingly no difficulty?
LOL! What a f'ing idiot! Almost certainly an Obama voter (but I repeat myself).
Yeah, I also noticed that she walked away. Not only is she as dumb as a box of rocks, she's also probably a moocher who's out on "disability."
I love how officials are planning on installing more video cameras in hopes of preventing incidents like this in the future. Ummmm... how is that going to help?
Mobility scooters are for people who can walk a short distance. Otherwise they'd be using wheelchairs. My wife used a scooter for a while when she was on chemo. She knew better than to try climbing the escalator though.
I think I need to say three Hail Marys and light a whole bunch of candles.

Save a seat and keep the beer cold when ya get there, m'kay?
Oh, Lord. Can someone please set that to the "Benny Hill" theme music? Then run it forward and backwards at 3x speed.
Too funny- teh stoopid REALLY showed in that one!
So she walked away!?!?! So that proves that evolution is really a theory and not a reality.

Alan,
She needed it cause she just came from collecting her disability check.....;-)
Aaaannnd, if they put up more signs, someone will complain because they can't read what applied to them because of there being too many signs. Or they complain because the signs discriminate against the illiterate.

Even worse, that station, like most of them, has an elevator for handicapped people.
Then again, stupidity is not a handicap.
