It's Gripping!

Skidmark received his prize yesterday. He, like me, has a thing for immediate gratification, and immediately set about transforming his Hi-Standard 1911 with his new walnut grips courtesy of Rimfire Designs.

He went from this:

Yeah, I'd say that's a bit of a difference. I suspect that the grips on the Hi-Standard are the standard mil-surp plastic variety; adding the walnut grips that Skidmark won in the Kilted to Kick Cancer fundraising contest is a nice custom touch that makes this 1911 stand out. Thanks again to Rimfire Designs for offering these custom grips for the fundraiser!
