Naturally, I had to check it out, in case it was Photoshopped or something. Lord knows we had plenty of moments with George W. Bush that were "helped" by a concerned lefty using P-shop, so I wanted to check out if this was legit.
Apparently, it was.
So what’s the catch? There is undeniably a large “r” missing from the word “forward,” and video from the event shows the same thing. There's a close-up at the link. Apparently, someone in the Obama/Biden campaign thought it would be cute to use the "R" in "FORWARD" to say "Re-Elect Obama". Rather than doing something like:
Apparently, the “o” in “Foward” has a circle with an arrow, pointing to a previous “r.”

...they chose to use a smaller "R" and a freakin' arrow pointing to it. And then sat these two supporters in the front row of a pep rally, so it looks to all the world like the campaign misspelled "FORWARD". Yeah. Great idea, guys. Smartest men in America right there... Nothing like appearing at a campaign pep rally looking like you don't know how to spell to get your point across.
Keep it up, guys - only two weeks ae left in your e-election effots...
That is all.

I hope their designer said "Seriously? This is a stupid idea. Seriously." and got over-ruled.
Because I like to think of designers as competent, is all.
We're doomed.
Wasn't "Forward!" the slogan of the animals in 'Animal Farm'?
