Burglary suspect reportedly shot dead by homeowner
Authorities say that a homeowner reportedly shot and killed an intruder trying to burglarize his home. There's a video at the link, and a couple things jumped out at me. First off, I'm surprised that they repeated the address. Secondly, the video shows one of the 1980s body style Ford Crown Victoria police cars rolling up to the scene - seriously, that body style was replaced in 1991, so that car is old enough to drink. Other than that, it's a pretty standard DGC - dude's burglarizing a house; homeowner surprises him in the act, rather than give up or run off there's a confrontation, the homeowner wins.
...
Sheriff's Deputy Jason Grimmis said that his office received a call at 2:40 p.m. from the homeowner, who said that as he approached his home, he had seen an intruder inside the house.
If someone has to expire, we vastly prefer it be the goblin...
Dead Goblin Count: 402
That is all.

Based on other links, sounds like the Goblin hit two of the neighbors house's and was going for the trifecta when the home owner came home in the middle of the afternoon and saw a strange car in his driveway, found the perp, and took him out.
One story says there were no goblin weapons found but the Montanna LEO's didn't seem to mind.
The Big Sky state sure is differnt

If you mean the slate-blue unmarked sedan that appears at about 0:22, it looks more like a late-70s body style to my eye. That generation of car was about the last where literally everything could be serviced by a shade-tree mechanic who knew what he was doing. With the right care, those could run until the body rusted out. And police departments are always strapped for cash. If the thing still runs, why not keep using it?
I wonder how many engines and/or transmissions that Crown Vic has had.
OH! Maybe they've a Fury III in the fleet. I'd love to see one of them.
