34 Years Ago Today...
Marion Mitchell Morrison passed away at the age of 72. I mention this because he is responsible for one of my all-time favorite quotes, ever; even more favored than Franklin's quote about liberty and safety:

As a side note the duke was born in a little town a few hours West of me. I go over there for Appleseeds a few times a year and in the lobby of the hotel they've got a life size cardboard standy from Hondo. You know you're in a good place when John Wayne meets you at the door.

There are two quotes from his last movie The Shootist that are my favorites,

Nooo... That quote is from "The Friends of Eddie Coyle". Neither John Wayne, nor any of his movies, coined this phrase. As a Bay Stater, you should know this...
