I find that I really do care less as I get older, although I'm still pretty high up on the curve. I think a lot of that comes from just simple awareness, given where I am - it's Massachusetts, and if you're not angry, you're not paying attention. I live in a state where illegal aliens get in-state tuition and free cars, but law-abiding folks that contribute to the economy have their Second Amendment rights stripped away for exercising their First Amendment rights.
I shudder to think of what a future JayG. who doesn't give a shit might say...
That is all.

You hang out with Weerd... That could go some interesting places...
It was probably two or three years ago when I hit my pinnacle. Now I'm in my mid 20's and when I read something I would have been infuriated by in the news, I instead laugh.
Can your give-o-shit go negative?
I'm not so sure that my average GaS level has gone down as I get older, but I do know the things I give a shit about are narrower in focus. Things like saving the planet from pollution and racial inequality were important to me when I was 20. Now I just want my kids to have enough to eat and for the neighbors to keep it down after 10:00 PM.
Let's just say I'm a tough audience for Wayne LaPierre's "We've got to DO SOMETHING! SEND MONEY!" pitch.
bluesun: I'd say when you start chanting "burn, baby, burn!" as you watch the nightly news, your meter has dipped into the negative.
My give-a-shit graph ascended quite steeply till I was about 20,then it stayed at max till I was 55,when I had a stroke, and it dropped off sharply till it was at almost zero, and now I only give-a-shit about things I can change.(Which is dam near nothin.)
hey its either this or domestic terrorism. isnt the exspression "shits given" " giva a shit"
Think of the give-a-shit reaction to, "What're they gonna do to me? Life in Prison? I'm 86!"
