Dear Customer,The ACTUAL link, not what was shown, was a Bitly job, and no, I didn't click on it. First off, it's not the e-mail associated with my PayPal account to begin with. Secondly, HELLO RAMPANT GRAMMATICAL ERRORS.

And lastly and most importantly, I'm not an idiot who clicks on random links in e-mails from senders I don't know or trust...
That is all.

Paypal always uses the name you have on your account too. So if your name on the paypal account is JK Rabid the email will say "Dear JK....". I've yet to have a scammer manage to get that one right!
....... And if you really want to temp me with your job offer as a. "Merchandise Mover" (whatever that is) for your shipping company in Lithuania, it would probably help if you offered more than $800 a month.
I got an email claiming to be from American Express wanting me to confirm some unusual activity. I deleted it, thinking it was phishing attempt. Then I remembered I -had- made some unusual charges. I called the customer service number on my card, and it turned out the email was legit.
Jay, the grammatical errors and links are actually a filtering mechanism of sorts - it helps these guys to immediately exclude the people who wouldn't fall for the scam and not spend time on them, focusing instead on those who have proven they are gullible by clicking on the link despite all obvious errors.
