Exactly one vote I cast last night meant something. One.
MA ballot question two. The half-assed decriminalization of marijuana passed in MA by a wide margin. This is a good thing.
The other two ballot questions I lost - Question 1 about eliminating the income tax was defeated, and Question 3 about banning dog racing passed.
Every single candidate I voted for lost.
Apparently I am an albatross (ALBATROSS!)...
That is all.

I voted for the GOAL endorsed Democrat in my MA House race. It was a tough decision, but I made it for a few reasons. One, he's more politically connected than his opponent and is more likely to be able to accomplish things his constituents want. Two, he lives in my town and not the neighboring town that's also part of the district. Three, he was GOAL endorsed, while the R in the race was only rated Fair based on his GOAL questionnaire. Four, he actually made overtures to fiscal conservatism on his campaign page, so he wasn't very different from his opponent.
The race was much closer than I expected. I'm writing him a letter pointing out that the GOAL endorsement was probably a big factor in the race, and that we'll hold him to voting our way on our issues.
Good on ya for the voting for freedom though. We're lucky even just a little bit passed.
