GMAFB, Part ???

PETA takes exception to Obama fly-swatting
WASHINGTON — The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants the flyswatter in chief to try taking a more humane attitude the next time he's bedeviled by a fly in the White House.

PETA is sending President Barack Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside.

Just when you thought PETA couldn't possibly do any more to further marginalize themselves and make themselves more of a laughingstock...

Guys, it's a freakin' HOUSEFLY. The one that 0bama killed? There's about a hundred gabillion more of them waiting to take its place. In the time it would take to capture the fly, walk the contraption outside, and release the fly into the wild, another 15,952,136 flies are born. Expecting the leader of the free world to "catch and release" flies is a little silly, don't you think?

Besides, this president only thinks "Catch and release" applies to terrorists and other enemies of America...

That is all.

There may be a market for that.

"Katcha Killer - Humane Terrorist Catcher"

Has quite the ring to it ...

When I heard this news story on the radio yesterday, I automatically thought:

"Nutty response by PETA in 3...2...1..."

When we had drought conditions in our area a couple of years ago, the rodent population got bad as the rats/mice came into the 'burbs from the surrounding farmland in search of water and food. PETA actually contacted our Administrators at the city where I work and requested that we fund and operate a "catch and release" program for rodents.

That's not too bad of an idea, Paladin.

Just make sure you release them at the PETA headquarters...

Wait, I'm confused, isn't PETA People Eating Tasty Animals? *grins*

Oh hang on, it's the organization that puts to death 80% of the animals they "rescue", worst rate of any animal rescue organization in the world, People Euthenizing Traumatized Animals.

Pardon me, small correction after looking up the article again, it's 95% not 80%... I knew it was bad, guess my mind just balked at how bad.

The purpose of the PETA press release was to get PETA more press. They are a small organization that uses any possible excuse to get more.

Ignore them or laugh at them and they would disappear in an instant.

Those doing actual good works for animals, such as dog rescue organizations, may also be obnoxious but they walk the walk.

PETA just talks the talk.
