Gunnie Christmas Came Early...

I got an e-mail from my contact at LaserLyte last week. They were appreciative of the reviews of their RSL laser sights, and advised me that they would be sending me a "couple more items" indicative of the depth of their product line. Friday night, I got home from work to find a large box on the front porch:

That's more than a couple!

Yes, they sent out more than a couple items; they sent out a veritable gunnie smorgasbord of laser sights, pistol bayonets, laser boresighters, rails, batteries, and other very interesting items. Here's everything in the box:

Impressive!

Four different pistol bayonets (five counting the one they sent out with the first round of laser sights for testing); two different revolver rail attachments; boresighters; a rail-mounted micro-flashlight; several different rail-attached lasers; many multi-packs of batteries; and finally, what just may be the single greatest accessory to come down the pike:

Giggle Box Kicker

Yes, Virginia, there really is a laser sight for a North American Arms mini-22 out there. And you had damn well better believe that's getting mounted on my NAA mini-22 and taken to the range... Expect product reviews for a good number of these products in the coming weeks - I am quite curious to see how certain items, such as the laser trainer, operate and will explore accordingly. I continue to be impressed by the overall savvy displayed by the LaserLyte company, and look forward to reviewing these items.

And with the sheer volume of pistol bayonets available, there's one obvious solution - I need to buy another pistol (or two) with a rail...

That is all.

Obligatory FTC disclaimer: LaserLyte has provided a wide variety of products to the writer of this blog.

Well, if one of those boresighters needs a home after you are done with it...

Kidding. Mostly. ;).

I do like that AR-15-top-mounted green laser sight rig, though... and not just because the folks at LaserLyte were smart and modeled it after the AN/PEQ-2 in order to satisfy the Counter-Strike-Kiddies out there...

In other news, with or without the actual product testing written yet, I have to admit I am thoroughly impressed by the response LaserLyte has had to your initial request and subsequent reviews. Unfortunately, that means my probabilities of pulling a similar stunt are just about zero now ;).

Congratulations to you for finding a good deal and jumping on it, and congratulations to LaserLyte for recognizing the power of webloggers these days.

No bayonet for the NAA .22?

I agree with Linoge: good on both you and LaserLyte. Do you foresee a second career testing gunstuff?

Oh, and did I actually see a product in there for which you have no matching gun? I don't recall you ever mentioning anything in .50 BMG...

OK, that laser for the NAA Mini just went to the top of the "I want to buy as soon have more money then I know what to do with" list. Maybe sooner once the Mrs sees it.

Christmas came early at someone's house.

linoge,

I intend to put that boresight to very good use, sorry... :)

The green laser would be great for my Bushmaster if: 1. It were a flattop upper, and 2. It wasn't currently broken (more tomorrow)...

I'm very curious about the pistol training laser, as it looks to be a dandy item for practicing at home - and also for teaching new shooters. There's a LOT of really neat stuff there, including some rails for different guns and a flashlight. The house pistol will be well-dressed indeed...

And I need more pistols upon which to put bayonets... ;)

And yes. I am quite impressed with the web savvy of LaserLyte. It sure looks like they're plugged into the gunblogger universe, at least my little corner thereof.

libertyman,

You watch, one will show up in the mail next week... These guys continue to surprise me!

wolfwalker,

I'm always happy to review products should anyone {cough}Advantage Arms{cough} want to send one {cough}G30 .22LR conversion kit{cough}.

I mean, sure, I'd love it if one of the gun mags were to take an interest and offer a part-time gig... I think I need to cut down on the road rage and cursing first, though... :)

Nope, no .50 BMG in the G. armory as of yet. Who knows what the future holds, though?

mopar,

Heh. There's an added benefit to the laser for the NAA mini - It'll get me to bring it to the range again. I haven't shot mine in YEARS.

A Horse Thief,

Yes, indeed, it did. Please notice the background for the "group shot" - that's our Christmas comforter! :)

We need a full writeup on that K15! Might I offer up a platform for some torture testing ? :-)

I have ATF blessed travel papers for MA or NH - just say the word !

Is it time to hit up a plush toy manufacturer ?

Heh.

I'll bring enough pistol bayonets for everyone with a pistol and a rail.

Which, given our group, may be both of us...

Well, if that green laser needs a home, then... ;)

In all seriousness, though, I am fairly certain there are some rigs that allow you to add picatinny rails to "standard" AR15/M16 fore-ends. Now, how well they work, I have no idea, but I could swear I have seen something like that before.

Me, I go all tacticool and railfarmy, so I never bothered to pay that close of attention ;).

Linoge, there are kits to add rails to standard handguards (CAA) and another kit to add rails onto a standard front sight.

I have both with decent results. May be too much play in a handguard mount for a laser, good for a flashlight or pistol bayonet :-)

JayG,

My LR-308 has a flat-top upper. So, I would be happy to test the AR-laser for you. ;) Ditto the NAA.22 laser. I laughed out loud when I saw that one. "Kicked my giggle box" indeed!

Fixing your Bushie shouldn't be that hard...we can talk.
