More NRA Convention Thoughts...

I'm sitting in my hotel room trying to comprehend the fact that it's the weekend of the NRA convention and I am here in Charlotte and I'm attending and I have a press pass and I'm meeting all the cool kids and there's a shindig tonight and ZOMG I met Unc and Breda and Alan and Joe Huffman and...

[pauses to take a breath]

There is so much going on. I haven't even had a chance to take in any of the seminars - I know SayUncle got a chance to go to the debate between Paul Helmke and Alan Gura (talk about a mismatch of intellects) - and even shook Helmke's hand. That's class, right there. The one thing that remained constant the entire time is just how nice everyone is. Even with some 70,000 people all crammed into one place all trying to see the same things, the crowd is friendly and courteous.

There's a lot more to say, but right now I have to finish getting ready so I can go back and do it again. On the agenda today is meeting the good folks at LaserLyte - I met the guys at LaserMax yesterday - and seeing the other 3/4 of the convention center floor that I missed yesterday. I've already taken a lot of pictures - have no fear; I intend to milk at least a week's worth of posts out of this! - and have much good gun pr0n for the ensuing weeks and weeks.

Yeah, life's rough, I know, but someone's gotta do it...

That is all.

This cannot be true. The Charlotte newspaper wrote about how ZOMG everyone's bringing teh guns! I mean, a newspaper wouldn't lie or exagerate, would they?

I know the feeling Jay. When I went in 08 I talked to David Kopel and David E. Young (sited in Heller) in the space of two minutes.

Same feeling I had walking into the Indy blogmeet for the first time (to meet Breda+Tam+Bobbi).

My jealousy is so transparent, you can read through it.
