FYI...

Word on the street is that the Glockalike ISSC M-22 will be shipping this month in a new proprietary configuration:

From the press release:

WARE, MA (August 2011) – ISSC-Austria, exclusive importer and distributor of the M22 range pistol and MK22 Modern Sporting Rifle, will commence shipping the M22 pistol in Olive Drab starting the final two weeks in August. The M22 OD will be available in ISSC’s proprietary Ti-clad black and Two Tone finish which protects the pistol from harmful elements and chemicals. The M22 pistol is the ideal range pistol designed to use inexpensive, high-velocity 22LR ammunition, while providing a highly accurate, defensive pistol feel in handling.

The MSRP on the M22 line is only around $300 or so; the off-the-shelf price should be somewhat lower than even that. Heck, even if you can find them, the Glock .22LR conversion kits typically run damn close to that as it is. If you're running a Glock as your CCW, HD, or simply a go-to gun, having a .22LR version for cheaper practice is nothing but a good thing - I'll vouch for that with the SIG SAUER P226 conversion kit and how it's improved my shooting with the stock 9mm barrel.

Of course, even though it's imported through a company in MA, I can't buy one here - but you probably can!

That is all.

Don't buy an ISSC M-22 new before you Google the feeding problems a lot of them have. They're very ammo sensitive too. Some of them work great. I personally know a guy who has one that functions perfectly and he loves it. But he won't sell it, so I bought a new one. FAIL. It can't fire three rounds without failing to feed, extract, or eject. Only had the chance to take it out once; maybe I can find a brand of ammo that'll work with it.

Also, mags are unobtainable at the moment.

I say all this because you pick one up in the store, and it's irresistable. It followed me home. Nothing I could do. I hope I get the thing working right eventually.

My daughter's fiance bought one a couple years ago. It had problems with the slide stop that resulted in the company giving him a new gun.
On his first one the slide would go forward if you set the gun down too hard on the bench at the range.
The second one seems to be fine.

It does have definite likes and dislikes when it comes to ammo.
It prefers Remington plated .22s and does not like Federal bulk Hi-Vel hollowpoints for instance.
