MA Isn't The Only Stupid Place...

Right now, Cheeseland is looking pretty damn fascist if you ask me...

'Firefly' and Anti-Fascism Posters Get Professor Threatened with Criminal Charges on University of Wisconsin Campus
MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 26, 2011—A professor has been censored twice, reported to the "threat assessment team," and threatened with criminal charges because of satirical postings on his office door. Campus police at the University of Wisconsin–Stout (UWS) censored theater professor James Miller's poster depicting a quotation from actor Nathan Fillion's character in the television series Firefly, and the police chief threatened Miller with criminal charges for disorderly conduct.
Yep. A poster from Firefly, and this poster:

How much would you care to bet this very same poster was hanging off of, oh, pretty much every door at ol' UWS every time George W. Bush made a speech? My #1 blogson has made an excellent point about lefties not being able to handle being "The Man", which lead to his most excellent TheOnesDay series. George W. Bush was Hitler, invaded countries to steal their oil - or avenge his father; had dissidents rounded up and tossed into Gitmo; arranged the savage pantying at Abu Ghraib; and a whole host of other charges the left gleefully flung his way.

But oh, you put up a poster we don't like? We'll quash your freedom of speech like a bug. How dare you express yourself in non-approved ways! Don't you know that dissent is unpatriotic? That's when the President has a (D) after his name; if he has an (R) then dissent is the highest form of patriotism. And yes, we've always been at war with Eastasia...

If these weren't the institutions charged with educating the next generations of teachers and politicians, it'd be comical...

That is all.

And it was the police that did it?

I look forward to seeing this one in federal court. Something about civil rights violations under color of law, I think?

Next thing you know the theater professor will be posting quotes from William Shakespeare's play "Julius Caesar":

"Let me have men about me that are fat;
Sleek-headed men and such as sleep o' nights;
Yond' Cassius has a lean and hungry look;
He thinks too much: such men are dangerous." (1.2.192)

"Between the acting of a dreadful thing
And the first motion, all the interim is
Like a phantasma, or a hideous dream:
The genius and the mortal instruments
Are then in council; and the state of man,
Like to a little kingdom, suffers then
The nature of an insurrection." (2.1.63)

"O conspiracy!
Sham'st thou to show thy dangerous brow by night,
When evils are most free?" (2.1.77)

"Cowards die many times before their deaths;
The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard,
It seems to me most strange that men should fear;
Seeing that death, a necessary end,
Will come when it will come." (2.2.34)

"Passion, I see, is catching." (3.1.283)

"Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more." (3.2.22)

"There is no terror, Cassius, in your threats;
For I am armed so strong in honesty
That they pass by me as the idle wind,
Which I respect not." (4.3.67)

"There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries." (4.3.218)

"You don't know me, son, so let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake. You'll be facing me. And you'll be armed."

We know this is a statement of honor. Captain Mal will face you and fight you on an equal footing.
And any time you speak of honor the Left gets VERY confused and afraid.
It is a concept they simply do not understand and wish to destroy. (apologies to Katherine Kurtz)
