Massachusetts, The Home Of Second/Third/Fourth/Fifth Chances...

PISSED sent this one in. It's a depressingly familiar story, even more so here in Massachusetts.

Illegal immigrant faces 6th drunk driving charge

BOXBORO, Mass. -- An illegal immigrant was in court Monday to face his sixth drunk driving offense. Boxboro police said they pulled over the driver for a suspended registration.

Eduardo Torres, 48, was arrested Saturday night. He was arraigned Monday morning and was set to be held in police custody until a dangerousness hearing could be held. He faces charges that include driving under the influence and driving with a suspended driver’s license and registration.

Repeat offender? Check.
Already been deported once? Check.
Illegally operating a motor vehicle? Check.
Endangering the general public? Check

Yeah, this guy's one of those harmless illegal aliens whose only crime is entering the country illegally. Oh, and repeatedly breaking the traffic laws of his "adopted" land, endangering the lives of her legitimate citizens, and making a mockery (well, even more so) of her immigration laws on more than one occasion. Other than that, he's a perfect angel.

I like how they have to hold a hearing to find out if he's dangerous. Um, YA THINK? He's broken the OUI laws SIX TIMES now; he's illegally entered the country at least twice; he's operating a motor vehicle without proper licensing; who knows what else this guy has done? What's the plan if they don't find him to be dangerous? Let him out on bail? How many picoseconds would elapse before he was gone?

Wonder if Mumbles still thinks we're deporting folks for non-serious crimes?

That is all.

No need for unqualified volunteers to make mockery, we have professionals to enmock the system, well, professionally. And a "dangerousness hearing"? Rilly? How would they score such a thing? Point system, or darts? Sure hope they haven't seen my bookcase.
