SWK: Shooting While Kilted

Hit the range with Weerdbeard over the weekend. I looked upon it as a chance to spread the kiltedness and awareness, but unfortunately there was only one other shooter on the pistol range the whole time we were there (about 2½ hours!). At least we had time to get a picture of me on the range in a kilt:

Ever seen a kilted Isosceles before?

It's funny. After less than two weeks I'm starting to feel pretty comfortable in a kilt. Bruce suggested Stillwater Kilts as an economical place to find a kilt for those not quite ready to commit to the kilted lifestyle, or there's always the official sponsor of Kilted to Kick Cancer, Alt.kilt, who have an excellent selection of both traditional and more exotic kilts.

Of course, the main reason for the kilt is the fundraising, so once again, donations can be made at www.pcf.org/kilted7 or my Kilted to Kick Cancer Team Page.

And no, I didn't get any brass down my kilt...

That is all.

And if you did get brass in your kilt, it should fall straight through, right?

The guy who was there shooting took one look at Jay, one look at me, and noted we both wear wedding bands and gave me a knowing look!

We need to do that again, I had a boatload of fun!

Wait until February, when you have to shovel the Driveway in your Kilt.

The biggest problem with an inside the waistband holster, worn while kilted, is that on grasping the pistol and pulling, the whole kilt comes with it, riding high. Of course, this distraction allows you time to properly extract the pistol.

Hunter,

Maybe take a leaf from ankle holsters and add a suspender strap to a garter lower on the thigh?

=)

Thing is Jay i thought you might like to wear a Sgian Dubh tucked into one of your long sock's whilst wearing a kilt.
