Update: Names Released in Shooting
FAYETTEVILLE — 1:56 p.m. update Police have released the names of the two residents of the house that was apparently the scene of a home invasion where one of the intruders was killed.
Sgt. Craig Stout from the Fayetteville Police Department identified the resident who was injured as Cory Roberts, 22
Three guys broke into the house sometime between 9:15 and 9:30 PM. There was at least one firearm, possibly three. It sounds like the injured home owner may have a self-inflicted wound from the update; still, taking on three armed home invaders and coming out not only alive but victorious is pretty darn amazing. There's a good deal of speculation in the article, including a comment from one of the police officers as to whether the victim (homeowner) may have known the assailants.
Unless and until more information comes forth, this remains a +1 to the DGC.
