And then someone mentioned that they made .22LR shotshells. I had to do it:
Paralegal!
Presenting the North American Arms Paralegal! Need a gun for when you're out walking the dusty trail, but don't want the mighty recoil of a .410? Here you go! 1/15th of an ounce #12 shot (approximately 165 pellets per shell) at your service. Just don't fire them at a 2L bottle filled with water, because they'll bounce right back at you.
Don't ask me how I know...
That is all.

Um... Jay... can we say USELESS???
Dunno, OldNFO. If you're feeling saucy you could use it as a breath mint...
You are too funny, Jay.
lol!
Those little shot shells do just fine on a squirrel in a trap, though.
Where's the micro-stabby?

I thought those were for shooting flies and spiders.
You really tried shooting a water bottle with that? Good thing you were wearing eye protection, then, isn't it?
Even in my callow youth I knew enough to always wear eye protection (heck, I had ear plugs in, too...)
Glad y'all got a chuckle out of it - I have to admit, I was inspired... :)
I did it once, killed a snake using 22 shotshell
Lol :)
The first time I shot some of that .22lr shotshell out of my dad's old single-shot youth rifle, I had earpro on, and I thought it was a dud round because I didn't feel or hear anything. I didn't see any damage on the paper target either, until I got up real close to it. The pattern at 10 feet was about the size of Texas.
I'd consider that stuff a good anti-spider round, but only at bad-breath distances.
I have a friend with a .22 shotgun (smoothbore). I think he said it was used for youth skeet with special clay birds back in the 50s.
When I was a kid we'd pry open the little .22 shotshells open with an icepick and replace the 12 shot with 8s. They'd do a number on the cottontails in Momma's garden.
:)
The .22mags out of a 5 1/2 inch Single-Six will stop a snake.

I LOL'd.
I don't recall who had pointed out the other shotshell caliber options, but after you posted the image of your NAA with a "bayonet" and laser.

I just couldn't help myself and made a micro judge joke.
Paralegal. Nice. Much better name
I have this exact pistol and shoot CCI shotshells only. Winchester makes a crimped 22 shell with the same #12 shot but they don't work as good.
I carry it for snakes when I'm fishing and use it on rats in my chicken coop. under 15 feet they work well.
