Oh, YEAH, Indiana?

Indiana might have drunken police officers. Massachusetts has drunken school bus drivers...

Tyngsboro School Bus Driver Arrested For OUI After Crash
TYNGSBORO (CBS) – A school bus driver was arrested for operating under the influence after a crash on Monday afternoon.
Police said 37-year-old Erik Paulik, who was driving a small yellow school bus, was tailgating a minivan school bus before striking it from behind at the intersection of Middlesex and Westford Roads at around 2:45 p.m.
Now, I'm assuming that "small yellow school bus" means the special needs bus. There's an extra toasty spot in hell for someone that would intentionally put special needs kids at risk like this - not to mention the damage done to the van and potential danger from being pushed into the intersection. This guy's lucky he didn't kill someone.

Now, this being Massachusetts, he'll most likely be let off with a slap on the wrist - and if Unkie Alkie's case is any indication, his whopping 45 day suspension will also come with a "hardship" license, meaning that he can continue to drive as though nothing ever happened. Now, his nephew isn't in the White House, so whether he receives preferential treatment or not remains to be seen.

Since this is MA, where we coddle our criminals, I suspect he won't serve any time nor have any significant restrictions entailed. We wait until the ninth or tenth operating under the influence before we really start to get serious - or the second fatality. This guy has a problem, and part of his probation should include counseling - anyone drunk in the middle of the afternoon when they are supposed to be working has a problem.

Or belongs in the MA House, take your pick...

That is all.

Holy crap on a cracker . . . happened about four miles from my home. Am I allowed to hog-tie and torture the drunken bus driver? Running over his legs a few times with his bus comes to mind.

I'm afraid drunk bus drivers are a problem in a lot of places. We had one here a couple of years ago who was so messed up the kids bailed out through the emergency exit rather than ride with her any more. She did 12 weekends in jail, 6 months behind an Invisible Fence, and is doing 5 years' probation with alcohol counseling.

The short yellow bus.... was taking Democrats to the polls, right?

Maybe not this time, but it will, yes, it will.
