Police: Man Shot, Killed After Breaking Into Home

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – Columbia Police said a woman shot and killed a man who broke into her home overnight.

Police responded to the home in the 1500 block of Highland Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, and found Thomas Moore deceased.

Now, there's a bit of a question in that the deceased was known to the people in the house. However, he broke into the home and started assaulting one of them - that's two crimes committed before he got himself shot. Unless there are serious extenuating circumstances, I can't see how this is not a good shoot. As a matter of fact, even if the two people had wronged Moore, breaking into their house and attacking them isn't the way to handle it.

In any case, there's a valuable lesson for other goblins here - if you don't want to get shot, don't break into people's houses and attack them...
