Dishonest or Just Stupid?

With this crowd, I opt for dishonest:

Welcome to Massachusetts!

That's the "Stop Handgun Violence" billboard near Fenway Park facing I-90 (a.k.a. the Mass Pike). It's the brainchild of John Rosenthal, arguably the poster child for "I'm a gun owner but" movement (as exemplified by John "$10,000 shotgun" Kerry).

It's dishonest on many levels. First off, in Massachusetts, there is absolutely ZERO loophole of any sort - for any transaction to take place, either at a gun shop or between private citizens, the receiving party must hold a valid MA gun permit. End of story. Do not pass go, do not collect the "gun show loophole". Any transaction that does not result in a licensed gun owner taking possession of the firearm is flat-out illegal.

In other states where no permit is needed to own a firearm (read: America), state laws dictate whether private transactions can occur between citizens. Some states do not allow private transactions; others do not - generally there are regulations on the transfers such as the person receiving must prove they are a resident. In any case, there are strict penalties for transferring a firearm to a prohibited person - the onus is on the seller to prove that the recipient of their firearm is not a prohibited person.

There is no "gun show loophole". It is a complete fabrication made up by the anti-freedom brigade to create a crisis where none exists, in a pathetic attempt to frighten the sheep into supporting more gun control. Study after study shows that the number of firearms used in crimes bought at gun shows are infinitesimally small compared to those outright stolen from law-abiding citizens or obtained through other illegal means.

Yet they persist in telling these lies, and for what end? I think we all know the reason.

That is all.

You probably don't get down to Boston much, so you probably haven't seen that bill board. It's just the latest in a series by John Rosenthal, who owns the buildings that sign is on.

Dishonest is about the nicest thing that you can say about him. Elitist pig is the next nicest thing and it goes down hill rapidly from there.

I saw that crap-billboard a couple weeks ago, and may see it again tomorrow when I go to the Sox game.

It's a shame no one can put up an Oleg Volk billboard across the street from this silliness.

+1 Tea!

They're dishonest because they KNOW what they say isn't true.

They're stupid because they picked THIS dead-looser of a topic to lie about, and right in the damn open.

Hell the last person to pass a gun control law in this state was MIT ROMNEY!

That's how much of a looser this issue is for these turds.

We've seen that one several times in recent months - it's always a bit of a shock to see such lies rendered in such a big font. Makes me want to use my S&W M&P on it for target practice.

Tools.

I saw that sign when I was in Boston a few months ago.

I'm surprised those yahoos can afford to still keep that billboard up.
