SHOT Show Day Three AAR

Thursday, my last day at SHOT Shot 2012 (it went until Friday but the flight home left at 10 AM, which gave me enough time to check out and get to the airport...), I was starting to get the pattern down. Wake up, shower, shave, get dressed and packed up for the day; hoof it downstairs to the McD's in the hotel for a large coffee, and hightail it out to the bus tour area for the bus to the convention center. I knew where everything was, I was in sync with the time difference, I had the routine down.

As all business travelers know, that means that the trip was just about over...

My first stop took me to the North American Arms booth to see what was new and/or exciting. Turns out they have "Cub Scout" revolvers. What does that mean? It means they have:

Gold

Heh. They also have a new model out for target shooting and varminting, the Sheriff:

Next up was the Colt booth, to check out the magnificent Gatling gun:

The gentleman behind the Gatling gun was the caretaker, who pointed out the emblem:

Next up were tactical shotguns:

The Stevens line of home defense-themed shotguns; these are part of the Savage umbrella now. There was also a company there that made kits for the Mossberg 500 to accept a detachable magazine:

Well, technically, this is a mock-up (Glock-up?) to showcase the new Micro T-1 light from Aimpoint. It's really slick:

The sight is really small but gives a very clear dot that's just blazing fast to pick up. I imagine this would be a fun sight to play with in a steel challenge course...

And the non-sequitor of the show:

Yep. A Freedom Arms single action revolver with a Leupold red dot sight. See? I'm not the only crazy one out there...

Thus closes out my coverage of the 2012 NSSF SHOT Show. I had an amazingly good time at the show, managed to not get escorted off the premises for hecking the GA guys or the HS Precision folks (their booth was about as empty as it was at the two previous NRA conventions...), and took nearly a thousand pictures. More will be cropping up from time to time; this is by no means all of them...

Now, to plan for the 2012 NRA convention next...
