He's going to shoot 100 rounds a week come hell or high water. That's an admirable goal, and I think I am going to try to match him. Now, unless some nice ammunition manufacturer wants to offer some T&E ammunition (hint!), I'm going to have to limit this mainly to .22LR, since I have a rather considerable stockpile. That's okay, though, because I'm figuring on hitting my club's indoor range at least 2 out of every 4 weeks. Unc mentions one of the issues being that he usually hits the range with kids or a newbie, and I have run into that myself, so at least half of the trips will have to be solo.
We'll see how long this lasts - and I still have a bunch of .45 ACP to run through my 1991A1 Compact...
That is all.

Who correctly identified the piece of wood with the metal thingy attached??? The news game posted on June 1st or did I miss it?
At my local club you don't need to bring someone to interrupt you. There's always somebody wanting to chat. The first time you say "can I go down and hang a target?" it's like opening the floodgates on Hoover Dam.
Jay;
Ya gotta learn to reload. You'll cut your per round cost by 2/3.
You won't save any money 'cause you'll just shoot a lot more. But you can tell the supervisor of the house that you're saving money.
I think I'm done with range time for a while :-( I go to a VERY well ventilated range, but I'm still a little leery of how lead might affect BabyKitty. Any advice on that?
Anon,
It will be revealed soon. No worries. :)
Dave H.,
My club's usually empty, which is both good (uninterrupted shooting time) and bad (an unused club is a neglected club).
The few times I've been there with other shooters present, my experience has mirrored yours. Someone's always got a gorgeous race gun or a custom target gun or something to gawk at, and I'm either testing a wizbang polymer gun or plinking with one of my classics.
Roger,
Reloading is in the works, just not right now. I need a dedicated space for reloading, and I'm honestly not all that keen on clearing out the attic and building a workbench/reloading area if it'll all be torn out in a few years for the Great Northern Migration...
Lissa,
I can't give any direct info there, but I would offer to err on the side of caution and abstain until after BabyKitty arrives (and you're through nursing).
Why take the chance? You're talking about maybe a year, or less, and then back to the routine. And again, it's all about moderation - if you hit an outdoor range once or twice while nursing the risk is infinitesmally small; hit a poorly ventilated indoor range three times a week, though...
Err on the side of caution. You can make up for lost time when you're bringing not-so-BabyKitty with you!
That's a great idea ... mmm ... not sure if i'm in though - got heaps of stuff coming up in the next couple of weeks ... will think about it
